Job Duties:
You will be responsible for:
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Perform system patch and version upgrade
- Handle crisis and high traffic database ad-hoc trouble shooting
- Changes, updates and modifications to system structure and data
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
- Root cause analysis on production issues and suggest solution to peers and team members
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- T-SQL scripting for data manipulation and building ad hoc reports
- Maintaining security, health and performance of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS)
- Managing high availability features like Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, and Replication
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for internal and external database access
- Ad-hoc support for task and incident handling
You should possess:
- 5+ years of experience in working with Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2008 – 2019)
- Strong knowledge in T-SQL, Windows batch file and Windows PowerShell
- Understanding on Performance Tuning tools such as Execution Plan, SQL Server Profiler, SQL
- Extended Events and Database Engine Tuning Advisor
- Understanding on security related feature such as database audits and database authorization control
- Knowledge on Linux Operation System is an advantage
- Knowledge in other scripting language (e.g. Python, Shell script, ) is an advantage
- Skill in other relational and non-relational database is an advantage (e.g. MYSQL, MongoDB)Skill in monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, Splunk) is an advantage
- Certificates in Microsoft SQL server (MSCE, MCITP…etc)
- Experience in deploying and support data infrastructure in IAAS/SAAS environment is an advantage
Strong sense of ownership - Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skill
