Job Duties:

• Applications are invited for appointment as UX/UI Designer to commence as soon as possible for up to two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

  The appointee will join the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), a start-up company incorporated by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) that is led by senior faculty members of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU.  The D24H sets to play pivotal role in gathering and curating massive, unique data resources and to develop new, deep, frontier analytics in protecting global public health and improving individual healthcare through precision medicine.

  Responsibilities:

  • Developing suitable and feasible UX/UI solution and user-friendly interfaces;
  • Collaborating effectively with the R&D teams to modify the solution and interfaces in accordance with business requirements and user feedback;
  • Enhancing user experience by incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics and usability findings into the solution;
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research to analyse the effectiveness of the solution;
  • Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems;
  • Optimising the work by using the most suitable formats and fidelities; and
  • Assisting in ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned by the senior management.

  Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Communication, Digital Marketing, Multimedia Design, or related disciplines;
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (Fresh graduates with proven knowledge, skillset and experience may also be considered);
  • Proficient in Figma, Miro and Adobe Creative Suite (Good knowledge of CSS and HTML5 is preferable);
  • Proven ability to wireframe, mock-up and rapid prototype for various interfaces, including websites and mobile applications;
  • Conversant with cross-browser, as well as native and cross-platform mobile design best practices;
  • Ability to de-risk a design, and have a good understanding of the timing to launch a design; and
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of Chinese and English.
